Shantel Beckers

Shantel is a nationally certified massage therapist and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She has extensive training in muscle modalities to help improve your performance, reduce your risk of injury, and provide relief from chronic pain. Shantel has completed over 1000 hours of training in Anatomy, Physiology, Trigger Point Therapy, Therapeutic Massage, Sports Massage, Thai Massage, Pre-natal Massage, and PNF Techniques. She is also a Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

As a competitive marathon runner, Shantel understands the physical and mental demands athletes place on their bodies. “Although being an athlete is not a prerequisite to understanding the mechanics of the human body,” says Shantel, “I feel it improves my ability to relate to my clients because I’ve experienced many of the same situations during my own training.” For the past six years, Shantel has worked with professional and competitive athletes from various sports, including baseball, tennis, surfing, skateboarding, decathlon, running, cycling, swimming, triathlon, and golf.

In 2004 Shantel traveled to Athens for the Olympic Games with client Paul Terek. She has also been on the medical staff for several WCT competitions including the Boost Mobile Pro, Pipeline Masters and the Women's Ripcurl Pro where she has worked with the top surfers from around the world.

In addition to running Shantel enjoys riding her horse Ruby, backpacking with friends, surfing, snowboarding and exploring foreign countries. "My dream is to be able to dedicate three months each year to volunteerism." says Shantel, "I think it's extremely important to realize the impact our daily choices have on our planet and its inhabitants. Through volunteer opportunites I have witnessed first-hand the impact of these choices which has created a desire to influence positive change. "
